It is still hours before dawn, everything is still dark and asleep, but the Vietnam team is already up and about God's business. Our small team of four, (TJ, Adam, Jack and Lindsay) is bound for the airport on a 7:05am flight to Chicago. From there Japan Airlines will carry us to our final destination, Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam.
Our team will be starting out with one of the simplest and perhaps most under appreciated tasks: prayerwalking. Right now the students of Hanoi are in the thick of school testing and for this reason it will not be possible to access any students on the university campuses. Consequently, our team will be pacing the labrinthyne streets of Vietnam, interceding on behalf of the people. God cherishes the prayers of his children, and our team will be praying fervently that the gospel message of Christ will permeate throughout the nation. Our team may be small, but our God is Big and he often works like ripples in water; we may be a drop in a bucket, but the ripples of the Word will continue on until the are met with completion in His time.
Later, we will be reaching out to the young people at the university campuses, engaging them in conversation and friendship. But for now, please join us in praying for Vietnam. Let your prayers know no bounds in this season! Pray for each and every person we encounter, that their hearts may be quickened for the gospel and pray also for the in-house missionary family that have been serving God and sharing his word in Vietnam already. Please pray for our flights, that they are safe and encounter few, if any, problems.
Please pray also for us that whenever we open our mouths, words may be given us so that we will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which we are ambassadors in chains! Ephesians 6:20.
