Uruguay Update#4

     Yesterday (Thursday), the team began its ministry in the town of Rosario. The plan was to repeat the work that had been done in Juan Lacaze for the previous several days - passing out invite cards for the medical check-ups and stress management sessions, door-to-door evangelism, and home visits to those who are currently attending a Bible Study in town.
     We had some wonderful home visits and the medical team provided check-ups for 16 or 17 men and women. Last evening, it was easily recognized that God had planned our time to encourage one couple who were in tremendous need for His strength and encouragement. It is so beautiful to see our Heavenly Father place people in the paths of those who need a word of encouragement or support.
Today is our last day of ministry before we return to the States. Please join us in prayer for our home visits, medical check-ups, and movie night (Magdalena, Through Her Eyes). We look forward to returning home to our families and friends but are also so grateful that God has allowed us to be a part of the work here in Uruguay!
    We want to especially thank our missionaries who have worked so hard to coordinate and support God's mission for our team. Thanks Earl, Patti, and Ellie Quick as well as Lyle Dease!

Uruguay Update#3

Day 3 (Tuesday, July 3) - The team began the day distributing invitations to the medical check-up clinic as well as copies of the Gospel of John.  Our medical personnel met with residents at the local church and made several home visits to help minister to those who were unable to attend the clinic.  In addition, clothes and toys were offered to everyone who came.

In the evening, our team provided a stress-management workshop for adults. The nurses gave an engaging presentation describing the symptoms of stress and many positive coping mechanisms. The nurses focused upon God-centered strategies using Philippians 4:13 as the theme verse.  The missionaries were very pleased with the participation from the community.

Uruguay Update#2

     After many challenges in travels, our team is settled in and active in ministry. Sunday, July 1st, we were blessed to participate in worship at the Baptist Church of Juan Lacaze, in the morning. One man prayed to receive Christ at the end of the service and we had the opportunity to celebrate with him and his family!
In the evening we participated in the worship service at Nueva Helvecia (Envangelical Baptist Church). It was a wonderful time of fellowship with our brothers and sisters-Christ. We were blessed even more when we were able to join them in the Lord's Supper.
   Today, July 2nd, our team went door-to-door inviting the residents of Juan Lacaze to the local church for free medical check-ups. During these visits, two people made decisions to place their faith and trust in Jesus! Two days and three professions of faith - God is so good!
   This evening, we hosted the children from the community for a night of music, Bible stories, crafts and games. 22 children joined our team for this exciting evening and fun was had by everyone.
Pray for our medical team as they prepare for the second and final day of check.-ups tomorrow and then will be leading a session on stress management in the evening.

     The whole team has arrived in Uruguay safely.  Yesterday - they had a wonderful day of ministry - sharing their testimonies with the locals.  The internet in country has been down - but more updates will be soon to follow.
