MALAWI MISION UPDATE (Day 1)

We divided today into two teams. Ray, Sheila, Vicki, Haley, Hunter, and Caitlin worked in Chisindothe first time for any of us in that village; Stephen, Jessica, Elizabeth, Hannah, Caroline, Samuel, and Maggie worked in Kololo. The teams helped with the church services in the small village churches at both sites.  Stephen had to prepare on short notice to preach the sermon, and he spoke on the good Samaritan.  All went well, and the pastor of the church told him that he emphasized points that were good for the congregation to hear. It was much the same in Chisindo. There is no pastor for that church, but it was clear the God is raising lay leaders, which is the plan and always the hope for these village churches.  For many of the youth is was their first experience in an African village.  Everyone enjoyed the warmth of the Malawian people.  The same teams will work at the same site on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Pray for us in our ministries.  Pray for continued health and safety. Monday, we will teach True Love Waits in a local congregation, possibly drawn from several churches.  Those not involved will be able to engage in evangelism in nearby neighborhoods.  It will be great day.

Oh, Caroline’s luggage has arrived.  She has taken this time without her stuff in relaxed stride.
